The Madonnina
Starting from Prati di Tivo, you can reach the Madonnina del Gran Sasso in two ways:
- via the cable car that takes you up there from Piazzale Amorocchi;
- going up the long slope just below the lift to the top, in the locality of Arapietra.
There are many good reasons to climb to the Madonnina: to admire the spectacular panorama that opens up over the valleys below, all the way to the Monti della Laga, to reach the Franchetti Refuge, to visit the Calderone Glacier, to ascend the peaks of Corno Piccolo and Corno Grande, to indulge in high-altitude sports and skiing, to explore the hiking trails that allow you to visit the entire Gran Sasso mountain range, or to ride your mountain bike along the marked trails of the Bike Park.
Virtual tours with immersive and multimedia experiences
Enjoy an immersive and extraordinary experience thanks to the immersive 360° video mode, which will allow you to explore every detail online like never before.
Each immersive video starts with an approximately 15-second introductory image to allow you time to position the headsets if using the Stereoscopic Immersive Mode with a smartphone or Full Immersive Mode.
There are three different viewing modes:
- Browser Mode: You can use the browser you use to browse websites (e.g., Google Chrome, MS Edge, and others) and move around the immersive world with your mouse. Subtitles are also active in this mode.
- Stereoscopic Immersive Mode with a smartphone: You can use Google Cardboard or similar viewers by clicking on the VR Icon
in the bottom right once the video has started. Then, following the on-screen instructions and inserting your smartphone into a compatible viewer, you can view the point of interest in immersive stereoscopic mode. - Full immersive mode: You can use advanced multimedia viewers such as Meta Guest 2, Meta Guest 3, or HTC. To do this, load this web page in your device's browser, then start the video and click the VR icon in the bottom right. This will enter full immersive mode.
