Hermitage of the Annunciation

The Hermitage of the Annunziata, located in Fano Adriano (Teramo), 745 m above sea level, above the Colle di San Marcello, dominates the upper Vomano Valley.

It is a stone structure that has undergone various transformations over time. The complex is characterized by a small church on the left and a hermitage on the right. The date 1597 is engraved on the architrave of the small stone doorway, which provides access to the church. Inside, you can visit interesting folk frescoes.

From Teramo, it is about 28 km away: Take the S.S. 80 towards Montorio al Vomano, continuing towards L'Aquila. After passing the junction for Poggio Umbricchio, turn left and follow the road signs.
