Cima Alta
Cima Alta is a mountain village located at approximately 1,715 meters above sea level in the Gran Sasso d'Italia massif in Abruzzo. It is a scenic area above the Prati di Tivo tourist resort, characterized by wide open spaces offering spectacular views of the Corno Grande and Corno Piccolo peaks.
The site is home to the Cima Alta Refuge, located at 1,620 meters, which serves as an important refreshment and overnight stop for hikers. This area is considered a key hub for the Teramo side of the mountain, providing access to iconic sites such as the Arapietra ridge, the Belvedere, and, for more experienced hikers, the Franchetti Refuge and the main peaks of the massif.
Access to Cima Alta is usually via trails starting from Prati di Tivo or via the road that leads up to the pass. Thanks to its elevated yet relatively accessible location, it's a popular destination year-round: in summer for trekking and trail running, and in winter for snowshoeing or ski mountaineering. Its natural conformation also makes it one of the most evocative panoramic terraces in the central Apennines.

Each immersive video starts with an approximately 15-second introductory image to allow you time to position the headsets if using the Stereoscopic Immersive Mode with a smartphone or Full Immersive Mode.
There are three different viewing modes:
- Browser Mode: You can use the browser you use to browse websites (e.g., Google Chrome, MS Edge, and others) and move around the immersive world with your mouse. Subtitles are also active in this mode.
- Stereoscopic Immersive Mode with a smartphone: You can use Google Cardboard or similar viewers by clicking on the VR Icon
in the bottom right once the video has started. Then, following the on-screen instructions and inserting your smartphone into a compatible viewer, you can view the point of interest in immersive stereoscopic mode. - Full immersive mode: You can use advanced multimedia viewers such as Meta Guest 2, Meta Guest 3, or HTC. To do this, load this web page in your device's browser, then start the video and click the VR icon in the bottom right. This will enter full immersive mode.
